Class Descriptions

Level 1:  An instructive, sequential practice for newer students.

Level 1-2:  A more dynamic class for students of all levels.

Level 2:  For students practicing consistently.  May include instruction in more advanced postures and/or flowing sequences.

Level 3:  For experienced students with a working knowledge of alignment.

Afternoon Delight:  An intelligent and fun flow class with creative sequencing and clear alignment instruction. This mixed-level class will get your breath and energy flowing, and leave your body feeling renewed and balanced. The perfect late-afternoon pick-me up!

Align & Flow:   These classes integrate the principles of alignment during a flowing practice.  Students will learn to coordinate movements with the breath, and enjoy the benefits of a conscious connection with the flow of energy through their bodies.

Anusara: Anusara Yoga combines the science of bio mechanical alignment, the art of inner body awareness, and a celebration of the the human heart. Heralded by Yoga Journal as the one of the most popular styles of Yoga worldwide, Anusara blends a challenging physical practice with an uplifting philosophy that honours and celebrates the uniqueness of students of all levels of ability, and from all walks of life.

Friday Flow & Glo:  The perfect way to end a busy week. The first half of class is a flowing sequence to burn off steam, and the second half is an extended restorative sequence that may include supported resting postures, pranayama, meditation, or all of these; as well as a long savasana.  Go into your weekend feeling renewed!

Gentle Yoga:  A class designed to revitalize your body, relax your mind, increase energy, and reduce stress.  Great for beginners, people with back, joint or heart problems, or for experienced students who want a slower, less strenuous class.

Intro to Yoga: Ideal for the complete beginner, a 6-week course that runs throughout the year  *The next 6 week session begins 12 June, pre-registration required – $120

Lunchtime Express: 45- minute Yoga flow suitable for all levels; a midday pick-me-up – $10

Nia:  An expressive movement practice blending dance, martial arts and the healing arts.  Set to inspiring music, Nia’s simple steps, freeform movmeent and inner awareness allow for a blissful experience for every age, body type and fitness level. (begins 30 May)

Prenatal:  60-minute class designed specifically for the needs of mums-to-be.  Suitable for all stages of pregnancy. *The next 8-week session begins 28 May , pre-registration required – $200

Restorative:  A form of active relaxation, we use props to support the body making poses accessible and profoundly relaxing.  Suitable for all levels. (begins 30 May)

“The Practice”:  Teacher & students practice together in an advanced sequence that explores postures from all classes of poses.  For experienced students – $10

Vinyasa:   A practice that will increase circulation and body heat as you move from pose to pose in a flowing sequence that coordinates movement with breath

Yoga for Athletes: Yoga to enhance, strength, mobility and performance in anyone participating in sport.

Private Instruction: There are times when it’s appropriate to consider private instruction.  These times include when a student:

  • Is just starting to practice
  • Is recovering from injury, surgery, or illness
  • Is seeking to move past plateaus in practice
  • Wishes to work more deeply on a particular aspect of practice
