The benefits of meditation for people from all walks of life are well documented by years of scientific research. Meditation is a powerful tool for self-care, a momentary retreat from the world that lets you re-enter it with more clarity and zeal. Meditation for people in the modern world should nourish your body, strengthen your connection to yourself, and enliven your passion for life.
Meditation today is often treated as it was thousands of years ago when renunciate monks in monasteries meditated to help them withdraw from life. The idea that in meditation you have to sit still, make your mind empty, cultivate detachment, and kill your ego comes from behind the walls of these ancient monasteries. Clearly the same ‘rules’ can’t really apply to 21st century people living in a busy world that includes partners, jobs, kids and full lives.
For those who lead busy lives and have difficulty finding time for self-care, meditation can be an indispensible tool for creating stronger, more resilient health, more consistent energy, and a better relationship with yourself and the world.

MEDITATION FOR EXHAUSTION W/ DR. LORIN ROCHE, CAMILLE MAURINE, AND ALISON POTTS
Decades of research has shown that certain types of meditation allow the body to enter a state of rest deeper than sleep, while the mind remains active and alert. This creates profound rejuvenation and healing, even if we only practice for a short time each day. In order to receive the benefits of meditation, there is a set of skills you need to learn and have at your fingertips.
In this experiential workshop, we will be exploring a variety of doorways into meditative restfulness. The techniques you’ll learn are surprisingly natural and instinctive.
The combined teaching experience of Dr. Lorin Roche, and his wife Camille Maurine spans 6 decades. With a doctorate from The University of California in meditation research, Lorin is a prolific author on the subject of meditation, having written many books including the best selling Meditation Made Easy, as well as The Radiance Sutras. Together they penned Meditation Secrets for Women. Alison Potts of Innate Being in Brisbane has over twenty years experience developing inner and outer practices for healing and thriving. She has studied extensively with both Lorin and Camille and is their first certified meditation teacher in Australia.
