Each weekend will be a step on a journey that will experientially deepen your understanding of the core practices of yoga including asana, pranayama, mantra and meditation. "Both the Intensives and Teacher Training with Julie were transformative for me. Coming back to regular yoga practice after a lengthy time off after a severe spine trauma, from the first weekend Intensive, the impact was significant to myself and those closest to me. I had been practicing yoga for 10 years prior, and still, the new openness (reflective of the first principle in practice with Julie), began a path of healing I had never anticipated. Julie's candidness, humour, and expertise in yoga both on and off the mat offers support and encouragement in a unique blend that empowers her students, bringing us on a journey involving increased self-awareness, respect, and connection with yoga. By the 3rd Intensive, I was no longer undergoing this experience on my own, but pregnant with "Baby Ninja". Even through the ever-changing weeks of pregnancy, Julie was able to adapt the training so that I could complete it and never feel less involved. The YTT training hours helped build my confidence and patience as a teacher, and as new mother in a way I will never forget." ~ Davina
“I love Julie’s refreshingly down to earth style, big heart and great humour! She is a rare teacher who’s incredible depth of knowledge and skill is matched by an uncanny ability to communicate and inspire, making even the most difficult concepts easy to understand. She will transform your practice and your teaching!” – Sarah
“I found the Immersions with Julie at Shri Yoga after having done a range of formal yoga teacher training (600 hours+). I was drawn to the Immersions by Julie’s passion as a teacher. I found them to be juicy and rich in all of the authentic teachings, philosophy and traditional texts as well as supporting the development of my physical practice, particularly my body’s ability to experience alignment & fullness of expression. Julie has a particular strength in seeing and developing the beauty and gifts of those she works with so this was for me as much a personal as professional journey.” ~ Marissa
“Julie’s 15+ years of experience and insights as a teacher are incomparable and completely evident in her teacher training and mentoring programs. She has a style which is both highly accessible and deeply illuminating. She is outstanding at empowering her students in taking the seat of teacher to offer their own unique gifts and calling. This is no “one-size-fits-all” teacher training but one in which Julie skillfully, sensitively and powerfully interweaves asana, philosophy, anatomy and methodology into something bigger – the ability to locate and expand one’s own unique power, personality and gifts and make them the highest offering in one’s yoga teaching. She is committed to offering follow up mentoring, holding space for experienced and emerging teachers who want to continue to develop and serve to their highest.” - Alison
